On July 11, 2009, I was given two folders of material, some of which I recognize from the dedication of Faith and some which I've never seen before. It is important enough to warrant a page of its own.

On December 1st of 1921 a new  monthly 4 page publication printed on 8 1/2" X 12" news stock hit the area! Written, ads solicitated, published and made available FREE to area residents was "THE CHURCH BULLETIN" by Gerhard Peterson, pastor, Rosholt, Wisconsin.

These are very fragile but in good enough condition to try preserving them as PDF's and making them available here. I'm confident they can be made to look much better than they are and will make some interesting reading!

ALSO in this folder is a single, 32 page, issue of "Lutheraneren" from February of 1916. It is Nr. 5 and begins at page 145 so this was a consecutively numbered official publication by the Norwegian Lutheran church in America.

I'm guessing the text is probably dry as burnt toast.......but there ARE some interesting advertisements one of which is an ad for the "Standinaviff Sanatorium for Taringsivge" located in Brush, Colorado. To me that means either there was a bunch of sick Lutherans who needed a cure of some sort.......or because they were Lutherans they needed some attention.......well.......don't we all. Anyway......as time permits I'll scan a few ads just for fun......we ARE allowed to have fun now days.......
